The PD 981 is a P‑NET slave module, which has been designed for use by original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems builders. The module is an operator input and LED module.
Other P-NET devices, such as Controllers, Distributed Process Intelligence modules (DPIs), and PCs can control the LEDs within the module and read any inputs from the keyboard.
A custom designed front panel mounted keyboard, with windows through which the LEDs can be seen, is connected to the module.
The PD 981 module is mounted on the rear of the control cabinet or box front panel. The design makes it highly suitable as a means for local operator intervention in machine, process control or mobile applications.
